What You Need

Herb Butter Stuff

1 cup butter, nice and soft. 4 garlic bits chop em tiny. 2 tbsp fresh rosemary cut up small. 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped. 2 tbsp fresh sage chopped up. 2 tsp salt and 1 tsp black pepper.

Turkey And The Other Things

1 big turkey around 12-14 lbs. 1 onion cut in four parts. 4 celery sticks. 1 lemon cut in half. 2 cups chicken broth.

How You Do It

Step 1 Get Ready

This you do 1 hour before you start cooking. Take your turkey out the fridge. Use paper towels and get it real dry all over. Turn oven on to 425 degrees so its hot and ready.

Step 2 Mix Up The Herb Butter

Put all the butter stuff in a bowl. Stir it around good til it all looks the same.

Step 3 Put Butter On Bird

Pull the skin loose over the breast part careful like. Take most the butter and spread it under there. Rest of butter goes on top of the skin rub it all around nice.

Step 4 Stuff The Inside

Put the onion and celery and lemon inside the turkey hole. Throw some herbs in their too.

Step 5 Cook It

First you cook at 425 degrees for 30 min. Then turn it down to 325 degrees and cook for 2.5 to 3 more hours. Every 45 minutes you spoon them juices from the pan back on the turkey.

Step 6 Check If Done

Thigh part needs be 175 degrees. Breast part needs be 165 degrees.

Step 7 Let It Rest

Put foil on top like a little tent. Wait 30 minutes then you can cut it up.

Good Tips To Know

Turkey should not be cold when it go in oven. You gotta let it rest dont skip that part. Get a meat thermometer it helps alot.
